Welcome to the ilab summer 2013 portal...
If you are a TUM student and want to take the practical exercise next semester or if you want to inform yourself about credits, kick-off meeting, etc. please click here...
If you want to apply for the exercise you can do this here.
If you are already experienced in networking topics the ilab2 could also be interesting for you!
What is the course about?
The ilab2 covers advanced networking topics.
This course deals with many topics concerning networks.
After participating at the Praktikum you know "how the Internet works" since you set some of its fundamental mechanisms up by yourself: routing (statically/ dynamically), address translation, domain name service, virtual private networks and many more!
An index of the labs topics can be found here.
Since we do all experiments with Linux you will really get familar with it even if you never used it before!
All instructions are in English and you are also supposed to give your answers in English. So you can practice English!
Why is this course different?
The main focus of this practical exercise is you... We made a lot of efforts to give you an exciting experience while learning a lot of practically relevant stuff.
To give you the experience described above an entirely new webbased learning system was created. You can find out more about the system here...
The whole course happens inside the system so you don't have to do any surrounding work for your hand-ins...
Some historical notes and credits...
It was first created in 2003 by Marc-Oliver Pahl and Uwe Bilger. Additional work was done by Johannes Riedl, Heiko Niedermayer, Andreas Korsten, Joachim Schiele, Jakob Dettner and Tobias Beck.
From 2003 till 2013 more than 800 students took part in the exercise.
